The General Board of Church and Society, the United Methodist Church's social action agency, is sponsoring a news series of articles called "Sex and the Church" which begins in March. There appears to be a genuine diversity of contributors. These articles should offer some good starting points for discussion. I'll highlight the essays as they're released and offer my own views.
We're dialoging with Catholics about the environment. I'm sure the discussions will be educational and beneficial in some ways, but the whole thing doesn't sound very exciting. This is one of those areas where I think there's a disconnect between not only the pulpit and the pew but between eggheads and normal people. I don't know... if my pastor and the parish priest from down the street were getting together to talk about their understandings of environmental stewardship and Scripture, I'd probably pass. But discussing it over a beer with a San Antonio Spurs game on a nearby big screen? I'm there.

Allan R. Bevere has some good stuff to say about worship. Many people who check out worship services are looking for authenticity and some kind of experience with God. A particular style of worship does not guarantee that these qualities will be present.
